Nokia finally adopts Windows Phone 7. RIP Symbian and Meego!

Nokia have finally decided to adopt Windows Phone 7 OS for their phones. Nokia's CEO Stephen Elop announced partnership with Microsoft on bringing Microsoft Phone 7 as primary platform to their handsets. He was joined on stage by Microsoft's CEO Steve Ballmer for the announcement.
Nokia have been thinking for a while whether to develop or stop using their home developed Symbian. Nokia also considered Google's Android but didn't think it could differentiate its phone from all the other Android hardware on the market and on the way. Elop suggested that Nokia's arrangement with Microsoft gives it more latitude to to customize Windows Phone 7 than other vendors, and said Nokia will be introducing a variety of WP7 by next year.
